This thread is meant for all rules, rubrics, recommendations, and How-To's regarding the RPG side of WT. This post includes the table of contents and the rules.

Table of Contents

1. RPG rules
2. The Adventurer's Handbook

RPG Rules

1. Obey all the Forum Rules, first and foremost.

2. Have fun! That should be the most important thing to everyone. If someone's not having fun, something's wrong.

3. Be Polite, Be Fair, Be Flexible. A threefold rule. Remember, everyone was new once, and some people don't know how to roleplay. Teach them, don't deride them. And remember: Roleplay is like improvisation, and the first rule of improv is Always Say Yes. This means go along with it as much as possible to make it as fun as possible for all involved.

4. Don't Spam. the RPGs are just like other forums. We have topics, and if you post, you need to be on-topic. Spam will be dealt with here like anywhere else.

5. The rules in the RPGs are just like rules everywhere else. They will be enforced.

6. Problems. If you have an argument that looks like it's getting ugly, DO NOT CONTINUE IT! Just hit the 'report' button and let the staff handle it.

7. Questions or Comments? Just PM a mod. They're easy going and can help you with just about any RPG related problem.

The Adventurer's Handbook
The purpose of this post is just to show regular RPG ettiquete.

God Modding
To God Mod, either in our RPGs, is to take control of someone else's character (or, in the case of the RP, world) without their permission. For example;

Jacob swung around, ripping the head off of Bill with a single pull and showering himself in blood.
Unless Bill gave you permission to rip his head off, you should not do this. It's impolite to Bill, and not particularly fun for anyone when the game is ended with no interaction. Similarly, while in a RP world, one should not;

Jacob walked into the bar, seeing the troupe of vampires. Calling over to them, he convinced them to join his entourage with no compensation.
Assuming you had not talked this over with the DM, this is not acceptable.

First, Second, and Third Person
In writing, there are three ways of conveying speech, referred to as first, second, and third person;

First Person
I run over to you, shaking your hand profusely.

Second Person
You run over to him, shaking his hand profusely.

Third Person
Jacob ran over to him, shaking his hand profusely.
As a general matter, one should use Third person in roleplay, as it allows for easier identification of individual characters as well as reading well from the outsider's point of view.

Spelling and Grammar
It's no fun for anyone to read "hey guyz wuts up", no matter the context. Please use reasonable spelling, grammar, and punctuation when Playing in a RPG.
