The Hall of Eternities (Shawn, Messer)

Legends tell of a plane named Shandalar, that drifts through the multiverse on a course all its own. The plane is incredibly rich in mana, making the casting of normally difficult spells much easier. As they legends are passed on, they invariably grow, adding more and more information, some of it true. For that reason, when the rumors finally reached the plane formerly known as Argentum, they told of the "Hall of Eternities". The rumors placed it on Shandalar and filled it, some with treasure, some with knowledge, others with horrors beyond reckoning. As rumors do, they eventually reached the ears of those in power. When Sade heard the rumor, it whispered of technology of ages past, and pulled him in with promises of portal technology for his armies. The tides of war delayed the message after Sade, but reached Shatashi nonetheless. They spoke to him of tomes filled with knowledge beyond reckoning, they drew him on with tales of the secrets of Urza. Both Phyrexian and Mirran pushed it to the back of their minds, focusing on the war effort, but still it spoke to them. In time, the war slowed down, and both decided they could afford to take a break to go searching. It took time, but they found Shandalar, arriving outside of the small town of Caloe.

Shatashi walks in to the town limbing slightly.
He looked around for a place to sit down and think about what his next move should be.

Sade walks into town, wearing a cloak, the hood up. He sees Shatashi, limping slightly as he walks, 'Damnit' Sade thought to himself, slightly saying it under his breath, 'He must have heard the whispers too' Sade starts walking towards him, clearing his mind of all thoughts.

Shatashi stops walking.
'I smell oil'
He turns round, quickly spotting a figure in a dark cloak. He puts the hood on his tattered blue cloak up and hurries behind a building.

Sade follows Shatashi behind the building and approaches slowly, but before either can speak, 4 large brutish men walk down the alley and straight up to them. "What're youse doin' in m' town?", the lead one barks at you. One of the other thugs whispers in the lead's ear. The lead's face contorts in rage, "YOU'RE HERE TO DO WHAT?! Only t' Overseer chooses the Hall Hunters, and this year, he's gunna pick me. In fact, why don't we teach youse a little lesson?" The 4 thugs move to surround you.

Sade lifts his hand, metal erupts, and forms into a twisted blade, the Cinder grabs the blade. As this happens it sounds like cackling erupts from the sword.

Swinging the cursed blade around the cinder jumps at the leader of the pack.

Sade and Shatashi take the three unconscious thugs to a safe location for interrogation, hoping to gather intel on the mysterious Overseer mentioned by their leader. When the thugs arouse from the knock-out, Sade immediately begins to attempt interrogation, the thugs responding only with silence. After a few minutes, Shatashi steps in to help with the "negotiations", having seen that the thugs were of an entirely tougher breed.

Challenge 2:

Shatashi weaves together a spell in his hands and releases on the battlefield.

Spoiler:

Sade reaches into his cloak and pulls out a small vial. He walks over to one of the thugs and pours the contents of the vial onto the boobytrap, causing it to fizzle and melt, the sound of the other boobytrap fizzling is heard where the other thug is.

Spoiler:

When the wards of the thugs tries to activate Shatashi cast a mind arrow into his head disarming the ward and seeking out everything the man knows that may be of use to him.
